A month after publishing my non-fiction travel literature book Teaching English in a Foreign Land on digital format: kindle and also epub on lulu.com and ibookstore, (update 1/11/12 – epubs not available until the end of January. I’ve gone on the KDP select programme so my book is on the kindle owners lending library for 3 months) you can now get a paperback version.
It was a great feeling to finally see my book in print after so many years hard work, and an even better feeling getting positive feedback from all my family and mates.
My Nan read the book in three days. After I apologized for the swear words she said to me.
“Don’t worry, I’ve heard them all before. I never realised you’d had such an adventure though.”
I’ve even had comments from TEFLers I don’t know saying they’ve enjoyed reading about my adventure and feel more inspired to travel the world and teach.
If you want to see the first post about my book with a full book blurb, information about how long it took me to write the book, as well as an explanation for my choice of front cover, then have a look here.
If you’re new to TEFL and are looking for an idea of what it’s really like to teach English and travel the world then get a copy. Even if you’re an experienced TEFLer and want to reminisce about your earlier teaching and travelling days then it could suit you too.
Thanks again to everyone who has bought the book so far and has been reading my blog. Last month was a record with over 10,000 page views.
