Share the Expat Love: Expat jobs in Spain. Are you really an expat? Chiang Mai or Siem Reap?

As well as a new look to A Novel Spain, I’ll also be doing a weekly ‘Share the Love’ post which will include links to 5 blogs posts which have impressed me over the last week. I intend to alternate between ESL, Expat, and Spain. This week it’s all about Expat life. So these are the best posts I’ve read.

Chiang Mai or Siem Reap?

I was lucky enough to pass through both these places while I was travelling. If I had to choose one in which to be an expat, it would definitely be Chiang Mai, just because Thailand will always have a close place in my heart. There’s a great post on Life, the universe and Lani titled Chiang Mai versus Siem Reap: an expat weighs in. Check it out. Lani talks about background, food, accomodation, shopping, and much more. Nice one Lani.

Are you an expat or tck?

Check out this entertaining post by Roaming Mom on her own website. It’s titled You might be an expat or tck if you… I’m definitely an expat: my home is a feeling, I have friends all over the world, and I have a few irritating aspects to the way I speak English now, no? (for example). Enjoy.

What is life really like as an expat?

Well, not all rosey according to Rhian on her blog Chapter and Circle. She gives a great rundown on exactly why life living abroad isn’t always perfect, and most of the time is tough going. Check out here post titled We need to stop glamorising other people’s lives.

How to get a job as an expat in Spain?

Well, look at this post titled How I found a job in Spain in 5 steps on Shamim Sobhani’s website. It’s a really useful post if you’re interested in becoming a teacher, especially if your from a country out of the EU.

Expat life in the states

This was an interesting post by Kylie, who likes to read about other expats around the world. Check out this article summerising her expat experience as a Brit living in Iowa. I haven’t read much about Brits in the States and it was quite interesting.

That’s all for this week.
